Presentation

Marc Salat is a lecturer Serra Húnter in Criminal Law at the University of Lleida where he defended his PhD titled "The legal response to dangerous criminal offenders: special reference to supervised release" for which he obtained cum laude qualification as well as the extraordinary PhD award. Since March 2016 he coordinates the interuniversity master in Criminal Justice System. His research has focused on criminal sanctions and alternatives to criminal prosecution. He has participated in several research projects, either as a member of the work team or as a researcher. He has done research stays at the University of Cambridge (2013, 2016, 2017) and participated in various conferences in the field of criminal law and criminology. He is the author of a monograph entitled: La respuesta jurídico-penal aplicable a los delincuentes peligrosos (2015), as well as articles related to criminal sanctions in comparative and Spanish law, sexual offender registry and alternatives to criminal prosecution. He is member of the Spanish Society of Criminology and the European Society of Criminology.
